Such a great find, coincidentally not too far from where we were staying! Went for lunch before our distillery tour - portions are healthy - ended up too gull for dessert but can attest to the delicious veggie haggis, great quality chips and gorgeous trout dish. Table mates seemed to enjoy the brisket toasties. Good coffee as well!
The food was the best I've ever had in a relaxed cafe setting. I couldn't rate it higher! The staff were very friendly and brought our order out super quick. The menu was very unique and quirky whilst providing options to cover a wide palate.
We loved it here and went twice whilst we were on Skye. Once after the fairy ponds as it's super close and then we returned on our last day because the food was excellent. We had the chicken burger, pancakes, baked eggs, beef brisket sandwich, matcha hot & cold and cappuccino. All were really good. Service was great, the staff were lovely. There is disabled parking and plenty of parking for other cars & motorhomes. We went on a weekday and a weekend. It was a lot busier on the weekend. Book ahead if you're a large party. We were just the two of us and they fit us in as a walk in both days. A bit more of a wait on the Sunday. They also have a cute shop you can browse whilst you wait. It's a little gem in Carbost, our favourite place to eat and the only place I could get a match on the island that I found other than the bubble tea shop in portree!
Simply brilliant! Probably the best food I have ever had in a cafe / lunch style environment. The level of taste and presentation was outstanding. A sweetcorn chowder that we had was thick, nourishing and full of flavour, then the Isle of Skye crab with scrambled egg, kimchi and chilli oil was spectacular and full of depth and a range of flavours. Service was efficient and friendly, without being overbearing. The building is colourful and striking from the outside, and modern with lovely decor inside. If you like good quality food with loads of flavour then get yourself to Cafe Cuil without delay, it's exceptional.
This place is amazing. I went in "for a cup of tea and to use the loo" and came out after having the focaccia of the day and a white and raspberry hot chocolate. The menu was amazing, flavours and tastes exquisite...Gordon Ramsay eat your heart out! Just about 5 minutes from the fairy pool, wise travelers will not only stop here on their visit to Skye but stay nearby, so they can taste as much of the menu as possible! Great staff, very quick, great seating, lovely vibe, art for sale, plenty of space for families to sit...everything you could want and more. Come here! You won't regret it.
Cafe Cuil is an absolute gem on the Isle of Skye. The setting is beautiful and the food is just incredible. I had the beef brisket, mozzarella, mustard, and pickle toastie—it was packed with flavour and perfectly balanced. My partner went for the sweetcorn fritters with spring onion, Scottish labneh, fried egg and chili oil which was beyond wonderful. Oh and how could I forget the excellent mac and cheese bites?! The staff were so helpful and incredibly friendly, making us feel really welcome from the moment we walked in. You can tell they genuinely care about what they do, from the quality of the food to the little details that make the place feel special. We were absolutely stuffed after our meal, but the cakes looked too good to resist, so we took some away with us for later—and they did not disappoint! The small shop inside was also a lovely surprise, full of locally sourced art, pottery, and books. This place is a must-visit, an absolute credit to the Island, the wonderful owner and their excellent staff. We’ll definitely be back! Tapadh leibh airson aoigheachd cho iongantach!
The food is fabulous, and there is a gift shop. We stopped here before taking the trek up the mountain with the Fairy Pools. If you’ve been anywhere in the UK to eat, you’ll know that table service is scarce. This place sends staff to your table, just like in Canada and the US. Unlike our side of the pond, they welcome dogs inside the dining area (not unusual in the UK). Surprisingly the dogs all seem to behave. The food was soooo good! Very hipster fresh menu, lots of veggie options, and menu items that are different in a great way. Definitely stop here if you are visiting the Isle of Skye.
I saw this little gem pop up in my Instagram feed. Our first time to Scotland and Isle of Skye - what an amazing representation of both! Exceptional food, lovely service and staff, beautiful setting.
